The United States Geological Survey engaged the services of Janice M. Fleischer, J.D., d/b/a FLASH Resolutions, for professional facilitation and meeting design expertise and services in connection with the initiation and organization of a mapping workshop in conjunction with Southeastern Regional Partnership for Planning and Sustainability (SERPPAS). The objectives of the process include but are not limited to: reviewing the state of art of mapping marine coastal areas; identifying the current Federal and Florida efforts in mapping the coastal waters surrounding Florida; agreeing on a set of Goals with regard to mapping Florida’s bioregions; and developing a priority for mapping those bioregions in coastal and ocean waters of the state of Florida.

The workshop took place in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 7 and 8, 2007.
